My Journey to the Pro stage....after the fourth baby

The greatest tragedy of man is never realizing or reaching his full potential~"Dont TALK about it,BE about it!"

WELCOME to my blogspot! I am utilizing this space as a journal of sorts, where my workouts as well as random thoughts are posted....

Now that I have a few good Pro shows under my belt,I am in "off season" until 2013,due to the VERY unexpected news of my 4th child!! In the meantime, I will be keeping a journal of how a pro athlete reclaims her pre-baby body and juggles fitness and family. I am planning a Pro show just a few months after the baby arrives, as well as gearing up to hit new PR's for 5k's,half and full marathons! My ultimate goal is to simply get better with age....(and hopefully snag an IFBB pro card and break 19 min in a 5k in the process)so come follow me on my crazy journey to the Pro-Stage and Beyond... after a fourth child!!Feel free to leave any comments or advice!

starting over

i know I've been MIA-lots of traveling over the holidays and WOW,WHAT A LONG,STRANGE TRIP this one was!!! (more on that in a minute)

the good thing about a new year is that its a new start.

new beginnings

new goals

new-found determination and drive....

all though my head is swimming with all the goals i have for this year, there are a few that i KNOW i have to accomplish. have to.

a brief rundown.....

*compete on the pro stage in the next 18 weeks, and make a name for myself on the pro circuit

*compete in my first triathlon

*PR in a half marathon

*break 20 minutes for a 5k

*get my kids involved in every sport they want to do over the next 12 months

*strive to be and do my personal best each and everyday

*reach and exceed all of the above....

things i WANT to do this year:

*PR in a marathon

*run as many local road races as possible

*get my kids involved in road races as well

*never settle for mediocrity

*reach and exceed all of the above.....

there are TONS more of mini goals i have set,but too many swimming around in my mind to list or sort just yet....

will post more as they come to mind.

in the meantime,i am 17/18 weeks out from the stage!!!!!!!

i am SO EXCITED to get in the swing of things!

after a MONTH away from the gym,the TM,anything active,i am DYING to get back in the gym. i am jonesing and SO READY to get the ball rolling!!!!

NOW if i can keep my children healthy......way easier said than done, but it looks like this momma will be doing gym time at 5am if there is another huge bout of sickies in this house! i know the kids can get sick from anywhere, but i have a STRONG suspicion that the gym child watch is a large cause of it.....BUT that's a different story for a rainy day, wont get on my soap box this post..

:)

anyways,my mission for this month:

post measurements

post workouts

post cardio sessions

and yes,AM cardio is about to start up again. 17 weeks will fly by before i know it,and i want to be ahead of the game. 2011 WILL be the year i bring my best physique EVER to the stage. who says you cant ever get your figure back after 3 kids?????

my goal is to prove that person wrong.

who says you cant get faster and stronger with age?

my goal is to prove that person wrong as well.

(yup,i will PR in road races this year)

good things are coming in 2011,i can feel it!

NOW....

on to that long strange trip i was talking about.

will start with the highlights first

*got to see ALL the family from both my side and my husbands.everyone finally got to meet Mckinnley for the first time!

*got to hang out with my best gal pals i haven't seen in YEARS (without the kids!)

*only one small episode of car sickness

*my children got to spend the night with their cousins and have the time of their lives on the farms....when they were feeling good that is

(yup,we stayed out in the middle of nowhere,TN.a real step back in time kindof place, where true country life still exists)

now the low lights

*bailey was sick on the way there, had to go to walk in clinic when we got to TN bc we thought he had strep throat. he didn't, but still felt like dog poo the first few days we were there

*i took the girls to the doctor the day before xmas and Alex had a bad ear infection,so she was not feeling well on the trip there.

* a 10 hour trip took over 24 hours due to the blizzard like conditions on the way to TN. 4.5 hours into the trip, the interstates were shut down and we had to stay at a hotel and resume the trip the next day.

*the next day,took FOREVER....

*Mckinnley started running fever, and was a bear the last few days. no sleep for mommy and daddy- had to take her to a walk in,and she has ear infections...AGAIN. on antibiotics,again...

*hubs came down with food poisoning the day before we left

*tornado like conditions on the way home to VA made travel slow going he first half.

*45 minutes from getting back to our house,my husband hit a deer (or two) and totaled the front end of our new highlander (an early xmas present).we had to get the car towed and no telling how much damage is done or what the cost will be.still waiting to see what needs to be done and still waiting on a rental.

so the positive side to all this?

we were about 5 miles away from one of my husbands co-workers where the kamikaze deer were. we were able to get everything packed and loaded and back home safely and quickly.

we made it home safe and sound, slept in our own beds and all even though the trip wasn't the best ever,we will cherish the highlights and make a good story for the not so fun times!we did get to be with family, and as my son said it,we were "home".

he told me when we got there, "momma, even though we live in Virginia,TN will always be our real home"
and that is true.

home is where the heart is!

hope all are having a great new years weekend and are gearing up for the new year with new resolutions and the grit and determination to reach and exceed your goals!!!

happy new year!

  2. That all sounds perfect! I can't even imagine how you're feeling with no workouts or running the past month. I totally know how you feel and the need to get back there! You WILL follow through with your goals, that's for sure. And I'm right there with you, three kids, and I'm in the best shape of my life, striving for that stage ready body. And no, not too old (though getting there =)

    Welcome back! Here's to a GREAT 2011!!
