My Journey to the Pro stage....after the fourth baby

The greatest tragedy of man is never realizing or reaching his full potential~"Dont TALK about it,BE about it!"

WELCOME to my blogspot! I am utilizing this space as a journal of sorts, where my workouts as well as random thoughts are posted....

Now that I have a few good Pro shows under my belt,I am in "off season" until 2013,due to the VERY unexpected news of my 4th child!! In the meantime, I will be keeping a journal of how a pro athlete reclaims her pre-baby body and juggles fitness and family. I am planning a Pro show just a few months after the baby arrives, as well as gearing up to hit new PR's for 5k's,half and full marathons! My ultimate goal is to simply get better with age....(and hopefully snag an IFBB pro card and break 19 min in a 5k in the process)so come follow me on my crazy journey to the Pro-Stage and Beyond... after a fourth child!!Feel free to leave any comments or advice!

in the gym again-again....

yay! finally the girls are feeling better,(and no school delays for my son)so it was off to school for B, preschool for A,and to the baby child watch for M!

got in chest and triceps and plan on ab workout at home later tonight,as with evening cardio-didn't have enough time to get in the distance today at the gym.....

what i got in today:

4x15 pec dec

4x15 DB flat bench with Arnold twist ss with

4x15 skull crushers

4x15 DB kick backs ss with

3x8 push ups with feet on ex ball and hands on upside down BOSU

4x15 cable crossovers ss with

4x20 pressdowns/reverse pressdowns (10 reps each,consecutive)

4x15 dip machine

ended with 24 minutes on the TM 2.9 miles a little over 8 min pace-

not enough time for cardio caused i got wrapped up in contest prep talk from a few other gals who are doing the same shows. as it turns out, i am 14.5 weeks out from INBF (WNBF pro qualifier) show and 15.5 weeks out from the IFPA Pro show,1rst one of the year...

eeeeep!

but it was good to be able to talk with other ppl at my gym about prep and posing and all that good stuff.....

hope all are having a great day!!

  1. I know this is silly, but for us newbies to the figure world... I'm having a hard time understanding how all of the different qualifiers work... Meaning, how do all the different leagues coincide? :)

  2. Hi ellelove!
not a silly question at all!
basically,as far as my knowledge, and in general terms, any show listed as a pro-qualifing event constitues that the overall winner in open divisions wins their pro card. a super pro qaulifier deems all first place open division winners pro status.
some organizations have regional and national events, and generally only the top 3-5 placements qualify to compete at a national event. you have to go to a national qualifyer and place to make it to the national stage.once at a national event, the overall winner of an open division will recieve thier pro card.
and once reaching pro status, you can no longer compete as an amature through that organization in the same division. ie figure pro cant compete as a figure amatuer, but pro figure can cross over to amature bodybuilding.
also, many natural pro organizations will allow for other pros from different all natural organizations to compete as a pro on thier stage. more info can be found here:

hope some of the info helps and wasnt confusing!

  4. Your workouts are incredible. I know you are training for a show but do you recommend this type of a workout program for someone like myself who just wants to tone up and get in shape?

  5. @ michelle, yes,i recommend a weight training program-doesnt have to be exactly like mine, doesnt have to be supersets/giant sets or as much/little weight, but the basic exercises, are totally do-able for those not training for a show...
    :)

  7. Thank you for that! I've been committed to getting my body in figure shape for about a year now, but am still becoming acquainted with the basics of actual competing. :)
